The many design constraints that were posited before the product designers raised a host of challenges. Portable personal radio Practical industrial design, PNR-1000; up to date design for a personal, portable radio for the soldier. The radio is light, advanced at the micro-tactical level, enables continuous contact (including identification friend-foe) within the network and possibility of command and control. Also option of navigation in the area of urban combat and in the field, where maintaining contact with each combatant is critical for the success of the assignment. The front part is cast in polymer (Ultem) which has properties of thermal isolation in order that the face of the product will not warm up too much.
